But Why Use A Dummy? It's Not Like they Fight Back..

Sure, training dummies cant fight back but neither do boxing bags right? And yet we see them in every boxing gym on the planet. Why? Because they have a proven ability to enhance and hone vital skills in training. Timing, distance, speed and developing power and techneique. A punch bag does'nt teach you to fight, it offers a means to drill a set of skills without a partner.

Why would using a dummy be any different?                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Many purchasers simply use Max or Maximus to keep techneique sharp when away from the gym. Some are thinking about joining a grappling gym but want to build confidance, maybe get a few moves down before walking in that door.

More than a few are dealing with an injury from training and want to stay sharp through that tedious ( but nessesary ) recovery period.

All reasons are legit and there is a place for MAX and MAXIMUS in your own training. Also, what's wrong with a little extra advantage over the other guy or gal?. Now you can get extra drilling whenever you want and thats huge!

Never Bored, Always Ready

It's a fact. Training partners can and will get bored before you do.

Some days you might just want to drill that one move over and over. Super tedious and uncomfortable for the partner, and good luck finding someone willing to be arm barred, leg locked swept or choked for hours on end.

No one that is, except your Bjj dummy. Your buddy's never saying no to a training session ( probably because he can't..)

The Guard

Fundamental in Bjj, and you can practice cover and open guard submissions with your grappling dummy too. A vast array of techniques are at your fingertips from triangle chokes, omoplata, mount escapes to sissor or spider guard sweeps plus many, many others.

Get your tactical game on

Work out different tactics for a fight by starting your dummy off in various positions. Turtle, Open Guard, Side Controll ect..Learn the tricks at your own pace to out think the opponent. Or get creative in senarios, how could my opponent get the upper hand against me from this position?.

Running these drills can inspire creativity in rolling. With regular practice with a great Bjj dummy, you can develop and bring flow and improvisation to your game.

Heavy Training

Not all of us are built like pro wrestlers with ridiculous strength, and even they get injured now and then. You may find yourself in this situation at some point.

Rolling with a resistant partner only aggravates a neck, back or shoulder issue. Many customers have been able to continue training through their recovery with our grappling dummies at home.
